What if I told you that you already have something that can reduce your stress, boost your immune system, lower your risk for different diseases, help you lose weight and improve your concentration and productivity, but you often neglect it. In fact, most people usually let it go first and their busy schedule sleeps along with nutrition and exercise.
Sleep is one of the pillars to good health without good sleep. You can achieve optimal health! But do you find yourself waking up tired or maybe with a headache or dry mouth? Obstructive sleep apnea could be to blame!
This happens when your breathing is interrupted during sleep often for more than 10 seconds. If you believe this is happening, your primary care physician may order an at home sleep apnea test to see if you are having trouble breathing. While you sleep, this test does not analyze your sleep, but has sensors that measure the patterns of breathing.
This two night study is done in the comfort of your own home and is reviewed later by a physician. As always, if you believe something else is disrupting your sleep, call your doctor to pinpoint the cause.
I’m Dr. David Long. That was the long story short!
